What is the role about? This position will be responsible for various weekly tasks including reconciling purchases and production runs and updating product costs. This individual will also be challenged to improve processes and reporting. This position reports directly to the Corporate Controller.

What will you do?
  • Update weekly product costs, reconcile and enter daily productions, and create and modify new products into the production/accounting system.
  • Work with processors to streamline information exchange.
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the accounting team.
  • Improve and develop reporting to help drive change in the business.
  • Ensure production data is accurately reflected in financials.
  • Manages the inventory reconciliation process for assigned locations.
  • Assist in performing analysis on production and sales data.
  • Enter data into computer spreadsheets, ledgers, worksheets, and other forms.
  • Compare data in various financial records to detect errors/discrepancies.
  • Assists Corporate Controller in performing and analyzing Beef cutouts, yield, and cost analyses.
  • Work on special projects for management.
  • Validates and processes receipts of purchased material and associated freight.
  • Resolve inventory discrepancies with co-packers that may require invoicing of co-packing plants.
  • Verify and approve co-pack fee and product purchase vendor invoices for pricing and quantities.
  • Establishes and enters new product information for approvals and input into the ERP system.
  • Performs sales data-related responsibilities and analysis as assigned.
  • Coordinate activities associated with the sales posting process by working with all production accountants to ensure its efficiency.
  • Perform monthly closing reconciliations and GL entries as assigned.
  • Cross-train in facets of production accounting.
  • Assist with training for new hires.
  • Assist Corporate Controller with advanced reporting (Month end, Inventory, P & L).
  • Train new analysts and serve as mentors to the team.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.
What experience and education do you need?  
  • At least 7 years of experience working in the "Industry" and a bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance. 
What specific skills are required?  
  • Advanced knowledge in performing cost analysis, yield analysis, and beef cutout preferred.
  • Advanced Excel Skills
  • Advanced reporting skills
  • Ability to review, analyze, and assist with production of weekly P & L statement
  • Advanced knowledge of carcass utilization and analysis
Compensation -  $90,000 to $110,000 - DOE
